Did you loose a plane?
An airplane showed up at the airfield a couple weeks ago and we’re looking for its owner. It was just sitting on the ground near one of the tables with a long dead battery still plugged in. It’s a small foam electric with folding prop. Initially, it had no crash damage, but has recently acquired a little bit of minor hangar rash. It was probably a runaway model that ended up lost in the nearby woods, maybe for several months (years?), probably discovered by a farm worker or a bow hunter who then kindly returned it to the airfield. Tell Stuart or Pete if you might know who lost it.
September meeting will be held Sept 10th due to holiday
Our next cub meeting will be held on Sept 10th at 7:00 pm rather than on the usual first Monday of the month to avoid a conflict with anyone’s upcoming Labor Day holiday plans. The meeting will be indoors at our usual place.
Flight Table replacement
Our flight tables have served us well for about 20 years now but most are weathered and rotted to the point where they need to be replaced rather than just patched. Mike Vaugg has graciously volunteered to build replacements for three tables, a startup stand, and the mower ramp. Mike is a Civil Air Patrol Cadet as well as an Eagle Scout. He will be earning a service merit badge for this efforts. The club is lucky that he chose our club to receive the benefit of his service merit badge. Thanks Mike.
Civil Air Patrol Cadets
The Cadets will be flying at the airfield on Thursdays 6:30 PM. They will also hold a rocketry camp at the airbase from July 26th to July 29th. Visitors are welcome to observe the many exciting events they have planned that weekend. Call Michael Walsh (503) 398-2838 for more details.
